KVA (Kinetic Vulnerability Assessment) is a tool developed by CEDREM to assess the ballistic vulnerability of any geometry. It was developed according to the STANAG 4569 AEP-55 standard but can be adapted to any other standard. It is integrated into the HyperMesh software (Altair suite).
This tool makes it possible to define a volume to be protected, and to generate as many virtual shots as desired, according to as many viewing angles as desired, and to identify the obstacles crossed by these shots (materials, thicknesses, angles, edge distances. ..) before reaching the surface to be protected. The result of the analysis is a percentage of protected area according to all the selected viewing angles.
This result is essential to be able to certify a structure according to the STANAG 4569 AEP-55 standard. But it also makes it possible to instantly identify the ballistic weaknesses of the structure considered. Finally, these results can also make it possible to optimize the shooting plans for certification.
This tool makes it possible to analyze any type of structure for which 3D CAD is available (personal protection, civil or military vehicle, boat, plane, helicopter, container, building, etc.).
This tool is available for sale or as a study service.
